vManage is a test management tool that allows you to organize and manage the testing process by providing tools that aid in bug tracking and test and requirements management. A web based interface lets you share testing information among team members who are integrated via Verisium’s testing solutions. With vManage, you can create projects that correlate tests, requirements that prompted the tests and bugs resulting from those tests. vManage allows you to monitor the progress of manual and automated tests and effortlessly locate critical information pertaining to any test, requirement or issue. Automated testing tools alone, without the assistance of an organized framework for scheduling, executing and managing the entire testing process may still not be able to overcome the setback caused by missed deadlines and lower quality products. Verisium vManage empowers you to fit the testing process within today’s ever-shrinking development and test cycles and yet meet your quality standards. Benefits * Formalizes and accelerates test management by using a structured approach that incorporates project requirements, test plans, test cases, bugs, reports, resources and schedules * Provides traceability between tests and business requirements * Facilitate informed decision making by enabling both the management and development personnel to monitor testing processes and assess application readiness * Enhance visibility of the status of bugs, requirements and tests at every stage of the testing process * Seamlessly integrate with vTest to manage vTest script execution, scheduling, bug creation and bug tracking
This post will show you how you can upgrade Cisco SD-WAN Viptela Software step by step
SD-WAN Viptela Software Upgrade
Use the software Upgrade screen to download new software images and to upgrade the software images running on a Viptela device.
From a centralized vManage NMS, user can upgrade the software on Viptela devices within the overlay network and reboot them with the new software. They can do this for a single device or for multiple devices at the same time.
When user upgrade a group of vBond orchestrators, vEdge routers and vSmart controllers, the software upgrade and reboot is performed first on the vBond orchestrator, next on the vSmart controllers, and eventually on the vEdge routers. For vEdge routers, up to five routers can be upgraded and rebooted in parallel simultaneously.
User cannot embody the vManage NMS in a cluster software upgrade operation.
It is usually recommended that you simply perform all software upgrades from the vManage NMS instead of the CLI.
Viptela have separate software upgrade pictures for hardware (vEdge routers) and IOS-XE devices and Cloud vEdge upgrade. Here in our lab we are operating with Cloud vEdge so we will use software image for Cloud upgrade. Similar image can be used if you are using vManage on VMware.
Note: in above vManage have separate software picture and rest other controllers (vSmart, vBond) & vEdge will use similar picture for upgrade.
User can store the upgrade files on vManage or remote server from where controllers or vEdge devices can download the recent software.
Task 1: Store software pictures on vManage:-
Steps for the process are given below
Go to Maintenance
Then click on Software Images
In Software images click on Add new Software
Move to vManage
or you can also drag the file from location here in our cases we will select our management system
finally upload the picture
Multiple vulnerabilities have been discovered in Cisco SD-WAN vManage Software, the most severe of which could allow for arbitrary code execution. Cisco SD-WAN provides a centralized management interface of an organization’s WAN including their cloud and data center environment. Successful exploitation of the most severe of these vulnerabilities could allow an unauthenticated, remote attacker to execute code on the affected systems. Depending on the privileges associated with the application, an attacker could then install programs; view, change, or delete data; or create new accounts with full user rights. Applications configured to have fewer restrictions on the system could be less impacted than those who operate with elevated privileges.
Today I am going to talk about how to upgrade the image of vEdge via vManage and later we will also show you how to upgrade the vEdge image via CLI.
Step 1: Login to the vManage and check if the Software repository has the latest image which needs to be upgraded on the vEdge as per the requirement.
Step 2: First of all, please login to the vEdge via CLI and check the current version on the vEdge using the below command
NDNA_vEdge# sh ver
Step 3: Click on the Software upgrade on the vManage as shown below and select the device to upgrade the device.
How To Install?
1: Run the system and open PC properties.
2: Get the latest Software.
3: Go to the activation menu too.
